Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

The basics

The Guild Vault ("the Site") is a free tool that lets World of Warcraft players track their guild rosters using data from Blizzard's public API. By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

Battle.net and Blizzard API

To claim a guild, you link your Battle.net account and provide a Blizzard API key that you create yourself at develop.battle.net. The Guild Vault uses this key only to fetch roster data for your guild.

The Guild Vault is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Blizzard Entertainment. World of Warcraft and Blizzard Entertainment are trademarks of Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. We follow Blizzard's API Terms of Use, and you agree to follow them too.

Acceptable use

Don't:

  • Use the Site to harass, dox, or harm anyone
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attack the Site
  • Use the Site for anything illegal
  • Claim a guild you don't actually belong to

Your content and guild data

Roster data comes from Blizzard's public API — it's public information about public characters. When you claim a guild, that guild's page becomes publicly viewable on the Site. You can leave or delete a guild you claimed at any time from the Manage page.

No warranty

The Site is provided "as is." We don't guarantee it will be available, accurate, or bug-free. Roster data may be out of date, incomplete, or incorrect. Don't make important decisions — like raid roster cuts — based solely on data from this Site.

Service changes and shutdown

We may change, limit, or shut down the Site at any time, for any reason, without notice. We may also change these terms. If we make significant changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Account termination

We can suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms. You can delete your own account by contacting us. When an account is deleted, any guilds that account claimed become unclaimed.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, The Guild Vault and its operators are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Site. This includes lost data, lost time, guild drama, or anything else.
